Its story revolves around saving humanity by dispatching an assortment of Daughters to combat dastardly devilish. There's no stopping these randomly generated warriors Othercide is a strange game. Othercide fits into the same vein of strategy RPGs as Xcom with its emphasis on positioning and timing your attacks properly across a dytnamic timeline. Reddit Save Post There are many kinds of turn-based SRPGs out there but I bet you haven't played anything quite like the darkly stylish Othercide. Return with lost powers to face a new nightmare

Might double dip on Switch when it comes out there (I bought it on PS4 today) because this is a perfect handheld game where I can see myself sneaking in a mission if I have 10-15 minutes to kill. One of the other major Focus Home Interactive titles shown off alongside Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Curse of the Dead Gods was Othercide, a three-toned RPG that doesn't look too far off from Sin City in terms of its striking color choices. Can’t wait to get into the first boss fight and see how badly I get demolished!
The game is cheap too, which is a surprise. I’ve not wiped yet but I think you gain permanent unlocks for future runs, which should prevent frustration and make the game a bit more palatable if permadeath is not your thing. Othercide is a horror-themed tactical role-playing video game developed by Lightbulb Crew. It’s a colour-free mash-up of turn-based tactics and rogue-lite horror - and a bit muddled.
Not sure if you can unlock healing skills at all but the idea of having to sacrifice a daughter (though not during combat) to regenerate health for another (while possibly imbuing a bonus trait) reminds me of Persona/SMT, in a way. This Othercide review isn’t broken: the game looks like that. To see these entries, refer to Memories (Codex) page. Additionally, each memory unlocks a new entry in the titular section of the codex. Upon implementation, Memories will introduce changes to how certain abilities perform in combat. It’s definitely giving me Into The Breach vibes while I play. Memories are remnants of the Mother's life, as well as enhancements acquired from slain enemies that can be equipped with the abilities of a Daughter. It’s fun to fight for space on the map and control of the timeline too. The build crafting and management side is kept pretty lightweight, which I really dig so far. Played up to the point the first boss appears on the calendar to fight.
